The comparison of Marital Satisfaction in OCD-pateints and normal individuals

Abstract:

Background and objectives: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder creates a long-lasting challenge for both patients and their family system and affected several areas of life. The research evidence suggests a negative and destructive impact of the obsessive-compulsive disorder on marital satisfaction. According to this thread, the purpose of this study was to the comparison of marital satisfaction in OCD-patients and healthy individuals. Method: It is a case-control study. The statistical society of the study includes all the patients with OCD Tabriz Razi Hospital formed. Twenty-five patients using simple random sampling (by a psychiatrist or psychologist from those who were given a diagnosis of OCD) as people with OCD and Among Ordinary people as well as the number of 25 people to simple random sampling that has been matched, as compared to the Group were selected. The second author after going to the hospital and marital satisfaction questionnaire to the examples that are given by a psychiatrist or psychologist diagnosed OCD. As well as from normal samples that are matched in terms of society's economic and cultural research community, Also requesting the completion of both the questionnaire (the obsessive-compulsive questionnaire disorder and marital satisfaction); After the completed, the researcher collected them for further analysis, and the data were analyzed using T-test. Results: The results showed that there is a significant difference between marital satisfaction in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder and healthy individuals (t= 2/24; p= 0/02);  This means that marital satisfaction scores in people with OCD are less than healthy individuals. Discussion: here are People with the obsessive-compulsive disorder the rate of marital satisfaction lower. These results can have contributions to for planning appropriate treatment for these patients.
